Part of the brief, we were asked to collaborate with a business in the local area. In the interest of positive social change i found an article in a local newspaper about a new rising '
green' agenda for Newcastle Upon Tyne and a new energy academy set to be built in Wallsend a struggling town on Newcastle outskirts.

Wallsend has for a long time been dependent on its the ship building industry for jobs. Since closing down the area has suffered and with little to turn to in the current climate and leaving many local young people without higher education unable to find work. Hope however has came with a deal to make the shipyards a new
Green Renewable Energy industry provide new jobs and business to the area.

The Energy Academy is attractive but one-dimensional. What it needs is a space to attract the local young people, a social catalyst to get them interested in the site and whats going on and hopefully
inspire them to get an education there and ultimately a good job in the future.
This could be a great opportunity for the my project and an incubator space for social change/good.
